Saha Oil produces crude and refined rapeseed oil from seed grown on its own member farms in Ukraine. Rapeseed sits between sunflower and soybean in the range: neutral in flavour, stable enough for professional frying, and usually the better value per tonne when a formulation does not specifically call for sunflower.
Crude or Refined
- Crude rapeseed oil — for buyers running their own refining, or for technical and industrial use.
- Refined rapeseed oil — degummed, neutralised, bleached and deodorised, with a neutral taste, high smoke point and long shelf life.
The refining sequence is the same one described on our refined oil page, and it is what turns a strongly flavoured crude into an oil that behaves predictably in a fryer or a margarine line.
Where Rapeseed Oil Is Used
- Professional frying — a neutral profile at a lower price point than sunflower, on its own or blended.
- Sunflower-rapeseed blends — ratio set per order, because the ratio is usually a cost decision as much as a technical one.
- Dressings, mayonnaise and sauces — where neutral flavour and light texture are the whole point.
- Margarine and shortening — where the fatty acid profile carries the formulation.
Nutritionally, rapeseed oil is high in monounsaturated fat, low in saturated fat and contributes alpha-linolenic acid. These are general properties of the oil type rather than a health claim about any individual diet.
Bulk and Bottled Formats
Bulk moves in tank trucks at 24 metric tonnes or flexi bags in 20’ containers at 20 metric tonnes. Bottled goods ship at 22 metric tonnes per truck, in formats from 850 ml to 10 litres with private label available, and in 5 to 20 litre professional packs.
