Refined Oil From a Ukrainian Manufacturer: Sunflower, Rapeseed and Soybean

Refined Sunflower, Rapeseed and Soybean Oil

Saha Oil refines sunflower, rapeseed and soybean oil in its own plant from seed grown by our member farms. That matters more than it sounds. When a refined oil manufacturer also owns the crush, the crude entering the refinery has a known free fatty acid level and a known storage history, so the refining recipe is adjusted to the actual lot instead of a generic average.

How We Refine Sunflower, Rapeseed and Soybean Oil

Degumming
Degumming hydrates phospholipids with water or acid so they can be spun out by centrifuge. Left in, they cause emulsification and foaming in the fryer.

Neutralisation
Neutralisation treats free fatty acids with an alkali solution, usually sodium hydroxide, forming soapstock that is separated the same way. Free fatty acids are what turn an oil sour in storage, so this stage largely sets shelf life.

Bleaching
Bleaching earth or activated carbon adsorbs pigments, oxidation products and trace metals, and the whole mixture is then filtered off.

Deodorisation
Deodorisation strips volatile compounds by steam distillation under vacuum, which is what gives refined oil its neutral taste and smell.

Winterisation
Winterisation chills the oil so higher-melting fractions crystallise and can be removed, keeping the product clear on a cold warehouse floor or a supermarket shelf next to the door.

What Refining Removes, Stage by Stage

Refined oil is not simply filtered crude. Four operations do four different jobs, and shortening any of them shows up later in colour, smell or fry life.

Nutritional Profile of Our Vegetable Oils

Heart Health

High in monounsaturated fats and low in saturated fat, which is the profile associated with lower LDL cholesterol. A general property of the oil type, not a health claim about any individual diet.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Rapeseed oil contributes alpha-linolenic acid, an essential omega-3 fatty acid.

Antioxidant Properties

Vitamin E is naturally present as tocopherols, which help protect the oil from oxidative damage.

Long Shelf Life

Deodorisation and winterisation give refined oil a long, stable shelf life and keep it clear at low storage temperatures.

Versatile Culinary Use

Neutral flavour and a high smoke point suit frying, baking and sautéing, in continuous and batch fryers alike.

Where Refined Oil Is Used

Frying and Everyday Cooking

The high smoke point of refined sunflower and rapeseed suits both continuous and batch fryers, as well as sautéing and baking.

Dressings, Mayonnaise and Sauces

A neutral flavour and light texture are the whole point in dressings, mayonnaise and sauces.

Margarine and Shortening Lines

In margarine and shortening production the fatty acid profile carries the formulation, and bakery lines get the same oil behaviour from one delivery to the next.

Where Our Refined Oil Is Used

  • Frying and sautéing — the high smoke point of refined sunflower and rapeseed suits both continuous and batch fryers.
  • Dressings, mayonnaise and sauces — where a neutral flavour and light texture are the whole point.
  • Margarine and shortening — where the fatty acid profile carries the formulation.
  • Bakery lines — that need the same oil behaviour from one delivery to the next.

Nutritionally, refined sunflower and rapeseed oils are high in monounsaturated fats and low in saturated fat, and rapeseed contributes alpha-linolenic acid. Vitamin E is naturally present as tocopherols. These are general properties of the oil type rather than a health claim about any individual diet — for dietary decisions, your nutritionist or the applicable food regulation should have the final word.

Bulk and Bottled Shipments

We process and export crude and refined sunflower, rapeseed and soybean oil in bulk by tank truck at 24 metric tonnes, or in flexi bags loaded into 20’ containers at 20 metric tonnes. Bottled solutions ship at 22 metric tonnes per truck.
FCA
DAP, DDP
CFR, CIF

Individual grades have their own pages: high-oleic sunflower oil where fry life is the deciding factor, crude sunflower oil for buyers who refine in-house, and rapeseed oil crude or refined. Common questions on volumes, terms and documents are answered in our FAQ.

Refined Oil Price: What Actually Moves It

Buyers ask us for a refined oil price and expect one number. The honest answer is that four things move it:

  • seed cost at harvest
  • crush margin
  • packaging format
  • freight to your delivery point

Bulk always beats bottled per litre, and a full 24-tonne tank truck always beats a part load.

We say this openly because a refined oil low price quoted without an Incoterm is meaningless. A CIF figure and an FCA figure for the same lot can differ by double digits, and the gap is freight, not quality.

How to get a genuinely low price refined oil offer

  • Consolidate volume into fewer, larger shipments.
  • Fix a delivery window instead of asking for spot loading.
  • Accept a standard specification where your process does not actually require a custom one.
  • Contract across a season rather than buying load by load.

Customers who do all four routinely land a refined oil wholesale price that spot buyers cannot match.

Buy Wholesale Refined Oil Direct From the Refiner

Every batch leaves with an analytical report from our own certified laboratory, which tests incoming seed, in-process samples and the finished oil. Where a trader passes on someone else’s certificate, we issue our own and answer for it.

The same crushing cycle also produces protein feed, so buyers who need both oil and high-protein soybean cake can consolidate two product lines into one supplier and one set of shipping documents.

Send us the oil type, degree of refining, packaging and destination. You will get a quote with a valid loading window, not an indicative number that changes the moment you accept it. Background on the company and the seed base behind the oil is on the Saha Oil home page and in our grains and oilseed farming section. To start, use the contact page.
